Dominic Gardetto is a Legal Intern at the Minneapolis office of Engelmeier & Umanah. He is a recent graducate of the University of Notre Dame where he received a BA from the Program of Liberal Studies (PLS). Similar to Great Books programs, PLS is an intensive study, analysis, and critique of Western philosophical, literary, and theological thought. He also minored in the Interdisciplinary Philosophy, Politics, and Economics program. While attending the University of Notre Dame, Dominic was president of Notre Dame Students for Worker Justice and served as a member of the Trademark, Licensing & Human Rights Committee. He also studied the relationship between international law and genocide in Poland during the summer of 2018.
Dominic began working for the firm as an intern in 2016 and is looking at applying to law schools this spring. As a legal intern, Dominic’s main job responsibilities include file management, legal research and writing, reviewing and drafting client documents, and providing administrative support to the firm’s legal professionals. Working closely with Sheila Englemeier, Dominic frequently participates in the resolution of disputed matters through mediation proceedings. Dominic’s dedication to successful completion of tasks, attention to detail, outside of the box thinking, and communication skills help him provide excellent service and fulfill the needs of Engelmeier & Umanah’s clients.
In his free time, Dominic enjoys reading, kayaking, traveling, and spending time with friends.
